Hello class! So, I have a huge interest in both the arts and technology. One art form that has taken over, especially within recent years, is making Youtube videos. With all this controversy lately on YouTube's algorithm and how we see the videos we do, I decided to do my own research on how it all works. I came across this article, https://backlinko.com/youtube-ranking-factors, and it gave graphical representation of how different factors caused by viewers affect the YouTube algorithm. For example, the more people commented on/shared a video, the more likely it was for the algorithm to put the video up for a spot in the "Trending" page. With the Keim et. al (2008) definition in mind I chose this article because the data was relevant to a part of pop culture that I was interested in. The data also had a very clean, great visualization that displayed multiple areas of the data collected. The article also had the other two parts as well as it provided much knowledge and a number of models to follow it. Because of its relevance, this set of visual analytics really caught my eye.
Module 7 Distribution Analysis
I used Plotly to design this graph and I think that it turned out pretty well. It clearly shows the distribution over time by showing the rise, peak, and fall of the distribution. The colors I chose ended up looking very nice together and can be clearly differentiated. Overall, I think this design represents the data well.
It is amazing that you are doing something you love. It was very nice to meet you. Good luck with the class
