Module 2- What Are Visual Analytics Basic Elements?

   The data I chose to represent was the schools in New York that had theatre programs and an overview of the school (i.e., cost of attendance, how many years the program is, etc.). Before I chose to be an Information Studies major, I was very invested in pursuing musical theatre. I wish I had a visual representation like this that gave me all the info conveniently in one place rather than having to research each individual school.

   This first photo shows the data of the schools in New York that have theatre programs, and compares and contrasts all the different aspects about each school. 

    The second photo is all of this data mapped out to show the exact location of each school as well as give a pop up bubble of the school's information

    I think something that could make this map more communicative is to color coordinate the circles based upon the price of the school. Going to school in New York City is not cheap, so a lot of students first start with the best school they can go to for the cheapest. Adding a feature to where the user can filter by price, how long the program is, location, etc. would be a nice add-on as well.
